Child Protection and Safeguarding at The Holt School

The Designated Safeguarding Lead is: Mrs Martin

The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is: Mrs Maynard

The Holt School is committed to safeguarding children and young people and we expect everyone who works in our school to share this commitment. We understand the need to create a culture of vigilance with the view that ‘it could happen here’.

All adults in our school take all welfare concerns seriously and encourage children and young people to talk to us about anything that worries them. We believe that our school should provide a caring, positive, safe and stimulating environment, which promotes the welfare and wellbeing of students as well as their social, physical and moral development.

Our students are taught explicitly about safeguarding issues, including online, through various teaching and learning opportunities, including our Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education Curriculum. Children are taught to recognise when they are at risk and how to get help if they need it.   This includes risks and issues in the wider community that impact upon the wellbeing and safety of our students.

We will always act in the best interest of the child.
