Year 6 Transition
New Parent Information
We are delighted that your daughter will be joining The Holt School in September 2024.
To ensure a smooth transition from primary to secondary school our Head of Year 7, Miss Izod, will be visiting most schools for a visit in the summer term. Students from smaller feeder schools will be invited into school to meet with her. She is looking forward to meeting your daughter on these occasions and will share information about The Holt as well as answer any questions.
Our New Parents Information booklet, attached, is a comprehensive guide detailing everything you need to know about school life, including our uniform requirements, term dates and our curriculum.
We would like to invite your daughter to spend Wednesday 26th June at The Holt, meeting in the school hall at 8.30am. This induction day will be an opportunity for your daughter to start finding her way around the school, to experience lessons, meet her peers and to be part of the school community. We will send out more details nearer the time.
Following the induction, we warmly invite you to a Parents Welcome Evening on Thursday 27th June at 6pm to learn more about life at The Holt.
In the summer term, our data team will be in contact to advise how your data will be collected on line.
If, for any reason, you are not going to take up your place, please would you notify Admissions at Wokingham Borough Council, in writing as soon as possible.
We are looking forward to meeting you and working with you in supporting your daughter, so she achieves her very best over the next five to seven years – exciting times!
